This will be the first one of our podcasts that is mostly intended to be informative. In this episode, I discuss my reflections on bombing out on a recent marathon attempt based on Brad Hudson’s Book Run Faster from the 5k to the Marathon. Some questions to use to evaluate a training cycle based on the book are:

  1. How consistent was I in my running?
  2. Was I able to avoid injuries this training cycle? If not, what may have been the causes?
  3. Was I able to build on past training?
  4. How did I perform in my races? If there were any disappointments, what were potential limiters?
  5. What are some training adjustments I might make for my next training cycle?
  6. What are some future goals that I can aim for that are beyond my current level of fitness, but that seem attainable?
